I dunno. I kind of felt cheated after the first one. It was good, but it was half a movie.

I’ll probably watch this one at home on bluray or whatever so I can watch both parts in one sitting.

No one is going to sit through a 5-6 hour movie. Well. Most people won't. They broke it at the perfect moment. While I wasn't initially thrilled about the long wait between both halves, it does add a sense of realism in that time has passed in the real world too and the younger actors might look a bit older now. They weren't shy about it being only part of the adaptation either.

They could have released them 2 weeks apart (which is still too much) or just skipped the theatrical release so you can watch the 5-6 hour movie at your pace. People regularly binge through entire seasons of TV series on Netflix.

I agree that you don’t want to be in the theater for that long, but who says movies have to be released in cinemas? Watching at home is a much better experience than even the best cinemas can offer.
