Probably a banded garden spider, or perhaps an orbweaver, they get really colorful. Both are pretty common in Minnesota. Here's some examples of Orchid Orbweavers, which often have a lot of bright green coloration. https://usaspiders.com/leucauge-venusta-orchard-spider/
It's a Joro spider, Trichonephila clavata.
Was trying to help the parent poster find the spider he saw in Minnesota, USA.
Neat! Those do both resemble it, but it looks more like the photo here in terms of shapes and color patterns.
