Because I know how to use vim, and haven’t really tried vscode. I doubt there are any real advantages of vim other than inertia, and as I understand vscode plugins / extensions could give me vim keybindings if I wanted them. I’ll try it some day.
JetBrains also has a VIM mode as well AFAIK
