No kidding. I've tried to use Peer Tube but it was absurdly confusing.

Veronica at !veronicaexplains_channel@tilvids.com (link to channel) puts subtitles on all of her videos if you like Linux-related content, but she's more the exception than the rule. The thing is that YouTube has auto-generated subtitles, which is a thing I think no other video platfom offers.

That's really good, I do watch one of her videos on YouTube from time to time, glad to see she's so committed!

I believe this plugin should enable any instance to generate the subtitles just like YouTube does, but I haven't seen one use it, I wonder why, maybe it's somehow problematic?
