Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

Since this madaidan blog is going to be shilled more often, it should be nipped in the bud before it becomes a disease.
Madaidan writes toilet paper rags. Anyone who cites him has negligible knowledge of Linux or, if they possess Linux knowledge, they are a malicious "security" evangelist troll.
His blog page about Linux is a massive piece of "toilet paper" repeatedly debunked at this point. If you think the phrase "toilet paper" is mine, come, have a look.

https://i.imgur.com/FiYhbkk.jpg: madaidan being very 4chan-y in terms of blaming the computer language for problems in particular software code (in this case Linux kernel), while dismissing everything when it comes to Windows.
Edit
I only saw madaidan's name, not PrivSec_dev aka Tommy_Tran aka Tommy aka B0risGrishenk0. This clown claims to be a RHCSA certified security researcher, yet publishes faux hitpiece libel and harasses people. Example: https://archive.is/7wKJW
I am the moderator of c/privacy at Lemmy. Last year, I was a victim of him and his friends' doings last year (akc3n from GrapheneOS and dngray from PrivacyGuides), as they hijacked the Matrix room of c/privacy (which I was unable to save since admins did not listen to me, repurposed by the troll Yayannick@lemmy.ml alias Kokomheart@lemmy.ca) and attempted to fabricate projecting lies against me because I moderate this place. His cyberbully friends from r/PrivacyGuides came in to fabricate nonsense against me, which threw admins in confusion. https://archive.ph/acy2h
This was their failed attempt at trying to rage bait me into reacting hastily, causing administration to revoke my moderation powers, so that GrapheneOS trolls could make Lemmy their next place of habitat, something I protect Lemmy from. I am an OG at Lemmy.
During this incident, due to the chaos that the tag team of GrapheneOS and PrivacyGuides caused, one Lemmy administrator (nutomic) warned me, likely because they got scared about the name of police being involved. Tommy_Tran/Privsec_dev proceeded to get me banned from Lemmy c/privacy's Matrix chatroom by tag teaming with dngray (PrivacyGuides moderator) to bait the moderator of that Matrix chatroom in believing I was the troll. Tommy took over soon enough and changed the room into some Windows/GrapheneOS Security crap, and later the moderator of Matrix chatroom itself moved off of Lemmy.ml (Lemmy's main instance) onto Lemmy.ca (coincidentally a Canadian instance). I do not know if these Canadians are friends or just fellow countrymen, but what they did was insanely evil. (Instances are like separate websites that can still operate like they are the same forum/website.)

They cite grsec, that guy is a notorious troll. I've seen customers apply their patches thoughtlessly, on bad advice, and bring down production systems. Linux security isn't perfect (if it was I would be unemployed) but a lot of those problems are solved on properly configured modern systems.
Happy to see someone informed about grsec/Spengler. I am the sole person to have documented the privacy community on internet for the past 5 years, pointing out exactly this obnoxious "security zealot" problem.
