Edit: forgot to mention that the fellow ode is usually like 250 but the refurbs are 150, is a refurb a bad idea in itself?

I pretty much have $150USD to spend on a nice burr grinder and I am pretty sure that one of these two would do the trick. I grind small amounts at once, like say 30-50g, but that's too big for most hand grinders plus I don't want to have to operate one while lacking caffeine. I want a machine but I want it not to suck. I don't have an espresso machine, or a Turkish coffee maker, and these two supposedly do everything from aeropress to French press so that seems good for me. Mostly going to be doing V60 and also drip coffee for the partner who prefers quantity over quality. Need to get a drip coffee maker too but I figure most of them are similar, probably will get a Krups or Bunn. I have a Fellow kettle so I kinda want the Ode to match but I also have some things I hate about the Fellow kettle like small size and lack of utility for things other than pour over coffee. Does the Ode have similar pitfalls? I like the small batch grinding capacity, whereas the Encore seems like a traditional hopper style grinder that you're supposed to pour a whole bag into. But I have been told that the Encore is the way to go for entry level burr grinders. So what do y'all think?

The SD40 https://www.espressooutlet.net/turin-sd40-v2-single-dose-low-retention-grinder/ looks cool too but I also don't have an espresso machine and am planning on mostly grinding for drip coffee for my partner and V60 for me. What did you not like about your Solis? I am looking at a Solis Scala Zero for half the price right now, it seems good. EvilCorp link but I am pretty sure it's shipped and sold by Seattle Coffee Gear which is local https://a.co/d/bVhSGyJ.

EvilCorp? You a Mr Robot fan? The Solis had way too much static and makes a mess. What's cool about the Turins is they have a bellows that you dump your beans into. After it grinds, you give it a few pumps and it blows all the loose grounds out of the grinder. Also the grounds go into a cup that's magnetically attracted to the base. The cup and base are metal and I'm pretty sure the base is grounded, so it helps get rid of the static. The Solis is plastic so there's no electrical path for the static to discharge, so it just builds up. As far as the grind quality they're probably equal. But not having to clean the countertop every time I make coffee is worth the extra cost to me. Everybody's budget is different, so you have to decide for yourself if it's worth paying twice as much to eliminate the static. The bad thing is I bought both, so the Turin basically cost me $300. LOL

Amazon is definitely a supervillanous outfit. I hear you re: static. If you think the grind is equal then I might get the "zero static" Solis with an ion generator, or maybe order an SK40 directly off AliExpress. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256803648778389.html?spm=a2g0n.productlist.0.0.201d7e7eqB5WUq&browser_id=42bba808867a44a3af09190376b9ed57&aff_platform=msite&m_page_id=bbaaaafbed18a3d03183517cd363e71419e5d38136&pdp_npi=4%40dis%21USD%21401.88%21188.88%21%21%21401.88%21%21%40211bf3f116932407276108230d0743%2112000027304044704%21sea%21US%210%21A&algo_pvid=f29cc4e6-6777-4976-9914-fe529cfac40c to save a few bucks. My problem with the AliExpress sellers is that I'm not a hundred percent sure that it's the same device espresso outlet is importing even though the seller uses Itop as well as Turin and then they call them MiiCoffee on Amazon, so it might be worth getting from espresso outlet just because they might have better customer service, idk.

That AliExpress link is the SD40, not the SK40. But yeah espresso outlet is just importing those machines and labelling them as a Turin brand. I didn't realize they had them on AliExpress, but I did see it on Amazon.
