Both sides ARE bad. The real issue is that both sides have latched onto some valid points and you need to eat their whole philosophy or the rest of the base will consider you a monster. Then they come out of the woodwork and say crap like "you're saying both sides are the same" to justify shutting on people who don't subscribe to the dogma. If you want to say that one side has latched onto a specific type of person sure. But that doesn't mean you have to subscribe to the opposite side and forgo your own mind and sense of political advocacy. Things are going as they are because they are being propped up by people desperate to justify their past decisions instead of learning from them.
