Rutracker has been really useful to find japanese music, particularly jazz fusion and citypop. Usually lots of .flac and .ogg.
Hope you find what you’re looking for!

Those heads freaked me out a little bit as a kid, never managed to watch it. Does it still holds up?
I got this problem too but managed to login, I was just stubborn and kept hitting the button lol. It may have to me something happening behind the scenes.
Good ol’ Kazaa
Currently I pay for Ivory (iOS app for Mastodon) since I think it has a great design, features and reasonable price, so if anyone can provide a similar experience (basically anything I felt is “worth it” without being too expensive) I’m more than willing to pay.
I personally prefer one-time purchases but also understand the subscription model appeal for developers. It’s just that if it looks too expensive to me (like I think the newly Sync for Android is proposing) I’m gonna pass on it.
Basically, if you hit that sweet spot you get my money lol.
If I may, I would like to ask about the future of the app. I’m currently testing a couple of lemmy apps and for example Bean app is already testing some Pro features for a monthly subscription.
What’s the plan for Avalon? One-time purchase? Subscription model? Free software?
I JUST realised that the app icon is NOT a mole with red glasses looking up from a hole in the ground. Huh.
I’m currently jumping between Memmy, Bean, Lemmios and Avelon. Dropped Thunder, Liftoff, Olympus and Lemmotif. There’s actually a lot of options going around, not to mention the several other WPAs being developed too.
It might be related with the density of comments? I went to the Active feed, opened a thread with a bunch of comments and scrolled down a lot to load the older comments with several replies. After this the scroll got a little funky and the upvotes sent me jumping down.
No, just opened a thread from the feed.
I hear you, I also find it weird to put ads for a free experience when the original service is also free and ad-free.
I prefer apps that, for example, offer limited usage for free and full features under payment. I know what others are saying about this not being a side project. For example, Ivory for Mastodon (iOS) is a freemium app with a subscription model for you to be able to full use the app, also not a “side project” but their model works (they previously developed Tweetbot until all the mess at Xitter started to happen last year).
Well, for starters it has none of those things that you dislike so much about instagram.
