Searching F-droid today for 'vpn', something called URNetwork came up, touting itself as better then a VPN, and sounding frankly too good to be true. Duckduckgo searches are finding very little not either going to them (ur.io, or their github, etc) or some site called Product Hunt that I've never come across before. Nothing useful or that gives me confidence even that this isn't a scam.

Does anyone know anything about this product?

Another crap like Hola VPN, it's free, because it don't use public servers, but the bandwith of its users, simply exchanging their IP. A terrible risky system. DON'T USE IT.

"Better than a VPN" but it looks more like some decentralised social and content network. So not a replacement or alternative to a VPN in any way. It just preys on the people who already bought the "VPNs make you private online" marketing.

Looks like a silicon valley VC cash grab.

When they say "All the content in the world'' and compare it to a VPN, I take that to be promising secure anonymous access to all the existing content of the web not just some new social network's own content.

secure anonymous access

A VPN doesn't provide this on its own. Nothing does.

Sorry, my wording was unclear. Their vpn verbiage suggests to me they are promoting access to the existing content of the web. Secure and anonymous they claim in other website verbiage.
