Let's not forget that Nixon and Kissinger used the CIA and DIA to actively destabilize Allende and then to support this coup.

Let’s also not forget that Kissinger somehow still has influence over current policies. It’s appalling and inexcusable. I don’t understand how Tony Blinken, the country’s chief diplomat, thinks it’s okay to attend his 100th birthday party. There are some people in the world who don’t get to celebrate their life like they’re a normal person, and not a war criminal. Kissinger is one such person.

Going out on a limb, but maybe the fact that partygoers didn't want to talk about it says something about the birthday boy…
