It's getting darker out sooner, too.
Love using that as an excuse to not do anything.

Don't ever move to Oregon. You'd be shut in for 3 straight months
Don't tempt me with a good time.
Maybe that's not a bad thing
It's really getting too hot these days, I want to see some rain too!
Not in the PNW. We do everything in the rain! Though we don't often get the kind of torrential rain that other places do, so it's easier to deal with.
I get this. But I'm a smallholder and I also love working outside in the rain.
What is a small holder? I'm not familiar with the term
They hold small things, like raindrops, in their hands.
Small scale farming, we have a small flock of soay sheep, hens and grow a lot of fruit and vegetables.
Keep working at it and I know you can be a bigholder some day, champ.
And when it starts raining outside when you prepare to go to bed. Pure bliss :)
There's something so therapeutic in the nature sound.
Indeed. Water is life. Single drops of water dripping slowly bug us cos they mean water scarcity.
I'm a weirdo because the sun makes me genuinely depressed and the clouds and the rain fill me with joy. It has been sunny here for weeks on end, hasn't rained for more than a few minutes at a time. My mental health is slowly going to hell. I just want a rainy weekend.
pluviophiles unite!
You just taught me a new word and I love it!
It's raining here too, and I'm feeling exactly the same. My biggest ambition is to check my email, but I'm in no rush.
Why would you feel guilty about staying indoors? I have never understood that vibe. It's OK to prefer the indoors.
Extroverts and "seize the day" types are incredibly difficult to assuage.
You can still go outside it there is no thunderstorm, just wear a raincoat.
I always love the way the sky looks after a light rain. Next time it happens I gotta take a picture
Sometimes I have had to go outside even when it was raining. So if I am indoors and it's raining it makes me very happy thinking that I don't have to go out and the temperature would go down a bit.
I wish that's what it meant for me. I've never worked a job that was called on account of rain. It just means that I have to wear a poncho and I'm going to get soaked. :(
This
I used to love that sound until my first roof replacement on my house. Rain is surprisingly destructive. It gently kicks my house's ass. Everytime it rains, i fear that my newborn son will inherit a disintegrated, dry rotted termite mound. [Sorry for the grimness - i said this with mostly a joking cadence in my mind] this is my first lemmy comment ftw
As long as you inspect... let it rain :)
Welcome to Lemmy!
