Sounds like an iPad mini with the mobility of a HomePod. Unless this thing is cheap (it won’t be), why not just get an iPad mini.

could be nice to have a dedicated always-on device in the kitchen or other family-oriented space. default screen could be like the family calendar or a shopping list or any number of other things.
No one wants this. Why are they making this?
@neon_nova @Alphane_Moon the last meaningful innovation Apple, Google, Facebook et all have done is the switch to arm cpus. The rest is smoke and mirrors and a massively hyped set of bubbles. They are trying to ride the hype wave and don’t care much about solving real world problems. AI is import and but generative chatbots are not and everyone is focusing on those.
They don’t know what else to do.
Seriously. How do you keep growing this company?
I had a Google home like this for years, was never great because it could not be used as a Bluetooth speaker, and the music services Google uses is limited (Napster and tidal are not supported). If this has AirPlay or the ability to use any music service of my choice I will get one. Especially if it can use my apps such as my recipe manager so I can see a c recipe on the screen while I cook.
If there’s a decent speaker as well and the price is okay (probably high though), I could be interested.
We FaceTime a lot, so would use it for that, as well as play music and maybe even use it for Home Assistant.
Because they know people will buy it
Maybe if the price is low enough.
Even Apple fans have their limits. Take the Vision Pro for example.
Watch it cost £999 then.
I suppose this would complete with Amazon's Echo Show. My sister and father had those, so the kids could have video calls with grandpa.
