Correct, there's currently no way to migrate post / comment history to another instance.
Personally I'd just drop a note on the old user profile pointing at the new one and hope for the best. Portable accounts isn't a solved problem in the fediverse yet.
Just link to your old profile on the new one. Use the same username and picture if you want to be recognized
