Heck that is an awesome ending screen!

[–] VanHalbgott@lemmy.autism.place 13 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Thanks! I like my Dreamcast a lot.

[–] Cadeillac@lemmy.world 10 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Dreamcast is great. Especially if you have a CD burner

I'd consider an optical drive emulator like GDEMU so you can store your entire collection on an SD card. This ensures your physical collection lasts longer and loading times are shorter as well.

[–] Cadeillac@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

Much better idea, I don't guess I was aware of it

[–] LowtierComputer@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

The physical discs won't last much longer.

[–] VanHalbgott@lemmy.autism.place 6 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Uh…I don’t use CD burners.

[–] Cadeillac@lemmy.world 9 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Might be worth looking into an external, unless you are a physical collector. You do you friend

[–] VanHalbgott@lemmy.autism.place 8 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Thanks. Yeah, I’m a physical collector.

[–] Cadeillac@lemmy.world 9 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I dig it. My only other advice, is you could use backups to keep your originals in good condition, but I'm not sure if CD-Rs are more rough on the laser

If you ever have the opportunity, I would be interested in seeing your collection

In general. I enjoy all retro gaming stuff

[–] VanHalbgott@lemmy.autism.place 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Dreamcast, Saturn, 2600, Genesis, Nintendo 64, PlayStation 1, Odyssey^2^, Xbox, SNES, and NES. I own a lot of systems.

[–] Cadeillac@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

Hell yeah. I look forward to seeing more of your posts

I miss mine so much, my dimwit brother threw it away like 2 decades ago along with our Megadrive, and I occasionally remember that and get sad all over again

Now do SA2!

Edit: or what 12 year old me did after winning and play the music from the sound test menu.

The lighting is all over the place but it is nostalgic. Like we got the sun in the background and shadows cast from the foreground.

Close my eyes and feel it burn
Now I see what I've gotta do
Open your heart, it's gonna be alright

I don't know what I'm looking at here, as I have never finished this game.

[–] VanHalbgott@lemmy.autism.place 6 points 2 months ago

Probably spoilers, my bad.

[–] machinaeZER0@lemm.ee 3 points 2 months ago

That's Sonic the Hedgehog

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Wow, how did you get graphics like that out of an Atari 2600?

[–] VanHalbgott@lemmy.autism.place 2 points 2 months ago

Very funny.

[–] lolola@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Get a load of this!! Get a load of this!!

[–] MisterMoo@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

No way! I can’t believe this!!

[–] MisterMoo@lemmy.world -1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

This game has just a few too many issues (low difficulty, an opaque story, iffy cameras and some of the worst voice acting you'll ever hear) to be considered great anymore, but it still holds plenty of charm for those who are willing to look for it.

I agree, and I absolutely love Sonic Adventure. I think I've beaten it more times than any other game I own, but the gameplay hasn't really aged well. It's probably my biggest nostalgia soft spot, though.
