I've heard people having problems with them for web hosting, but I'm not sure if this applies to their VPS as well.

I am very happy with my VPS in IONOS. I pay the cheapest plan though but i have had virtually no problems with them for 2 and a half years. I recieved a mail once for a downtime but happened at european night so i didn't even noticed. Otherwise, the dashboard solved any problem i caused.

I only have a very few selfhosted services there due to the limitations of my plan, but they are essential to me and i would recommended you to try it. It's 1€ + taxes a month, very affordable, but very limited in resources.

Second that, same plan for 2 years and very happy with it. I only host a VPN though

It seems like the vps stuff is fine, but the company I work at uses them as cloud provider (many VMs plus K8S clusters) and the quality is not so great to say the least. Also the support is sometimes blaming us for their outages and generally not too helpful.

I've had an IONOS VPS since January and have no complaints. I even rebuilt it at one point. I have a larger VPS for $20/mo.

I've used ion for years for web hosting with no issue. Not sure how it would compare

I've heard mixed things about them, never used them though. Personally I used Digital Ocean for my VPS needs till I had a spare computer available, at which point I moved everything in house.

I‘ve been their webhosting for 10 years and besides some minor errors (website didnt work for 30 mins here and there) I‘m very happy.

I informed myself about their cloud programme with help of a sales rep and although it is quite expensive compared to hetzner, it seems very usable.

I dont think you need to worry about them for a vps. Its not like they would rob you or your data will be lost. They might turn out to be slightly better or worse than hetzner long term which would both be fine in my book.

My personal preference is Linode and maybe Azure
