Here is new child’s entertainment. Be grateful to Putin.

My goal is just to have a community where people can go and see what new game news is out for the day and comment on it.

There were times where Irish man would've killed for it. I.. don't even know where I'm going with this. K, thx, bye.
There's a 99% chance it'll be one of those fake emulation consoles with 5000 pirated roms loaded into it
Or just a Steam Deck with a Z painted on.
Zteam deck
Wouldn't be too out of pocket for Putin to advocate pirating all games not developed in Russia
I mean a broken clock is right twice a day right?
Good then maybe they'd stop with all the gray market shit that they're into. Stolen keys are worse for developers than piracy, and Russia is notorious for it (along with other countries).
Those are fun, though. You get a single console that emulates a lot of systems for a good price. Some have cute retro styles!
I got the Miyoo Mini Plus that runs on Linux. It emulates many old consoles like GB and GBA, and can even run some DS, N64, and PS1 games, which are a great addition. Of course you need to tweak it a little with a good OS (not the Chinese one) and a good SD card with a library of games from the buccaneer communities. Edit: It's not hard at all.
The Steam Deck is amazing, so I don't think they can rival it, but if they make a better Odin 2 cheaper than the Steam Deck, I'd be tempted, lol.
Here is an alternative Piped link(s):

I'm open-source; check me out at GitHub.
They've already done it ;)
I've had the top two as a kid. Thanks for the nostalgia!
You're welcome :)
Oh hell, I didn't know those were real. I should have guessed though. They turned up in HROT, a very... "Soviet Core" game. If you're worried about the politics of the dev, the final boss is Putin
"home grown" aka mostly Chinese parts
What's the difference then?
That Russia has no capability to produce something like this and isn't China also behind chip wise?
I meant what's the difference with our game systems? They're mostly all Chinese parts too
I thought most of the major silcon like CPU and GPU chips were from Taiwan, with it being more simpler commodity and board manufacturing being done in the PRC.
China doesn't have the capacity to make high performance computer chips.
Taiwan, not PRC. Mainland China isn't capable of making CPUs and GPUs whith the performance and low power draw needed for a portable console in the volumes necessary. They brute-forced their way into a 7nm process, but it's expensive and low yields, so they're using it only for crypto mining ASICs and Huawei phones.
To make a console like the Steam Deck, they would need an AMD64 chip on 5nm. Granted, Zhaoxin does have a licence for X86 architecture (inherited from Via, who got it when they bought Cirix), but they're still far from being able to make those in 7 or 5nm.
Meanwhile, TSMC in Taiwain is already shipping 3nm chips for Apple and soon for AMD too.
Unless China figures out Extreme UV, like in the ASML machines, or direct stamping, like in recently announced Canon machines, they won't be competitive with Intel, TSMC or Samsung anytime soon.
Built in malware that phones home to the Kremlin, most likely.
In Soviet Russia, steam decks you!
This is going to be a huge success, like the last time when they developed a "homegrown" cellphone.
Well people with connections to the goverment need a way to launder money.
Is Putin a gamer? 🤭
Yes just like any other ruler they play risk with real people
No, but russians game a lot.
No, but russians game a lot.
They get very cranky and invade other countries when they have nothing else to do.
In fact right before the war in Ukraine kicked off it is said you could hear Putin shout “bloodseeker mid or feed”
We see that PM Mishustin needs only to consider and create outline plans for the gaming ecosystem before the period of execution, which is set for June 15, 2024. Of course, preparing meaningful plans is still a big task, but it should be achievable enough for Mishustin to feel relatively safe standing on balconies.
Lol
I guess the Ruzzian bread & circuses are getting a bit low on the circus part.
i've seen a few videos of ukranians using decks to control drones. maybe he thinks there will be military applications on the russian side too
The reason you can control drones is that it's basically a full-on OS that can send to arbitrary system commands. If Russia wants it 100% home grown they're going to have to develop their own architecture. What I suspect is it won't actually be that home grown and will mostly be Linux based, but Putin doesn't know the first thing about computer systems so it'll be fun to watch someone have to tell him that.
It's the same with North Korea, they claim to have their own PC OS but it's just Windows XP with a custom skin.
isn't the NK Red Star os a linux distro?
Maybe they’re murderous zealots, but at least they use Leenox /s
so they have to develop this on the front during break time?
They have already announced that it will be Intel Atom X5 with 64Gb SSD for around $500
