Are there any good quality, open-source or community-driven alternatives to goodreads? Something which offers the same discoverability service for similar or related books, including the ability to wishlist and review?

https://bookwyrm.social/ though I imagine they don't have the algorithm for discovery and their user base isn't large enough to really make up for it yet.

Thanks! This looks promising, hopefully it becomes more active over time.

I just joined it to help the cause. I've been wishing for an alternative to goodreads for quite some time now

Tip:

Export your books from goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/review/import (at the top of the page)

Then import to bookwyrm at: https://bookwyrm.social/import/

Fantlab for the Russian-speaking community. Couldn't find anything better on the Anglosphere internet.

LibraryThing for English-speaking people. I use it for the rest.

LibraryThing best the best algorithm to choose new books, better than GoodReads, at least for me. So having LT for finding new books is great.

For tracking I love Mateusz Bąk's app OpenRead, great UI on mobile.
