Enough Musk Spam

For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.

No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.

Opinions from all sides of the political spectrum are welcome here. However, we kindly ask that off-topic political discussion be kept to a minimum, so as to focus on the goal of this sub. This community is minimally moderated, so discussion and the power of upvotes/downvotes are allowed, provided lemmy.world rules are not broken.

Post links to instances of obvious Elon Musk fanboy brigading in default subreddits, lemmy/kbin communities/instances, astroturfing from Tesla/SpaceX/etc., or any articles critical of Musk, his ideas, unrealistic promises and timelines, or the working conditions at his companies.

Tesla-specific discussion can be posted here as well as our sister community /c/RealTesla.

Elon is so quick to call people pedos that I 100% think dude must be one himself.

[–] DiscussionBear@lemmy.world 63 points 1 year ago

Projection is a hell of defense mechanism.

[–] G59@lemmy.world 28 points 1 year ago

He's linked with Epstein so I wouldn't be surprised.

[–] Finnbot@lemmy.world 20 points 1 year ago

Oh he blatantly is. It’s ripping right oot his stupid, glaikit heid.

[–] Cheems@lemmy.world 18 points 1 year ago (1 children)

And he's done it several times in recent memory. Concerning.

[–] Prior_Industry@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

Looking into it

His Dad definitely is

Trump and Musk have done so much to remove the stigma that billionaires and fascists are smart

[–] Wooly@lemmy.world 29 points 1 year ago

Legit, just take your money and enjoy life in silence like other billionaires you don't even know about. They're far too public and they look like idiots.

[–] joneskind@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Wait, has Trump ever been a real billionaire? The man who bankrupted a casino?

[–] xantoxis@lemmy.one 5 points 1 year ago

Unclear. Probably not. In any case, I included "fascists" just for him.

[–] Saneless@lemmy.world 53 points 1 year ago

Same for that guy who rescued someone instead of Musk's dumb sub

Lots of projection, me thinks

Don’t forget he drastically cut the team meant to fight stuff like this on Twitter.

[–] Steeve@lemmy.ca 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)

His plan is to lure them into staying on his platform with a false sense of security, then he'll secretly investigate them himself, then he'll join them to keep close tabs on them, then... uh... he'll... ah shit

[–] EdibleFriend@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Step 3 : profit

[–] exohuman@kbin.social 9 points 1 year ago

The meet up was after Epstein served a 13-month jail sentence for admitting to soliciting a minor for prostitution and was labeled a registered sex offender

That’s why shit like this continues to happen. That’s a tiny amount of time for what he did.

[–] Xeelee@kbin.social 10 points 1 year ago

Seriously. That dumbass is sitting in the world's most fragile glass house here.

[–] masquenox@lemmy.world 25 points 1 year ago

It's just the bog-standard right-wing troll last resort strategy when they have absolutely nothing left to argue with - I think they trained 'em like this over at 4chan or something.

[–] howdy@thesimplecorner.org 24 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Just playing into his chosen "base"... As insane as that sounds.

[–] lowdownfool@kbin.social 14 points 1 year ago (1 children)

He really is. I went to go see Willi Nelson on the 4th of July - I'm not a country fan but the man is a legend. Saw a guy walking around with "Kill All Pedophiles" on a t-shirt. My take is they're just waiting on someone to say "go ahead" and suddenly all their enemies are pedophiles.

[–] claymedia@lemmy.world 13 points 1 year ago (1 children)

At a Willie Nelson show?! Damn, people need to chill the fuck out if you gotta make murderous political statements at a 90 yr old pot head’s concert.

Also I can’t believe Willie is 90! Jealous you got to go to that show.

[–] howdy@thesimplecorner.org 10 points 1 year ago

Yeah it's insane... Everything is divisive. I hate it... Like I was at the farmers market and there was a guy wearing a "ammosexual" shirt and a "let's go Brandon shirt". Like why the fuck does everything need to be this way.

I guess owning the libs is the rights number one goal... They sow hatred and want it this way for some reason. Probably something to do with that religious masochism book they pretend they read.

Bingo!

These assholes are all riled up by this QAnon-adjacent movie Sound of Freedom.

Elon is trying to hitch his wagon to that now.

[–] foggy@lemmy.world 22 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Can they please just fight to the death already?

[–] vera@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Gives me Russia civil war vibes

[–] Tolstoshev@lemmy.world 22 points 1 year ago

Elon right now:

[–] capy_bara@lemmy.world 14 points 1 year ago

I'm glad that no one ever messages 14 yolds on Twitter with inappropriate stuff 🙏🙏🙏🙏 \s

[–] philluminati@lemmy.ml 13 points 1 year ago

Musks first moves at Twitter were to remove moderators and moderation tools and (potentially) to widen free speech and hate speech.

[–] Prior_Industry@lemmy.world 13 points 1 year ago

Again? Really? 🤦

[–] Gyella@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago

His dad would know. I’m sure he’s part of that Instagram network & that’s how Elon found it. They’re family is a bunch of fucking sickos.

[–] Letranger@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago

“Zuck didn’t kill himself “

[–] Moohamin12@lemm.ee 6 points 1 year ago

So this was the fight they were talking about?

[–] Z4rK@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

This looks like a fake post, and previously people would usually be quick to fact check it. But that’s not possible now without being logged in, so… I guess in any case he reaped what he sowed?

[–] Z4rK@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (2 children)

What a pity he’s so socially inept and easily manipulated.

Edit: to be fair, Instagram IS horrible and does probably do something akin to what is claimed.

It has been proven that it grows and promotes mostly secret suicidal networks to suicidal teens. It’s algorithms are probably not intended to be harmful, but are not under guard at all, so they will promote any patterns that grows interaction, regardless of content.

[–] Rufio@lemm.ee 6 points 1 year ago

I would imagine virtually all social media companies have this as a side effect, twitter definitely included.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

This isn't Elon being manipulated, this is Elon lashing out at a competitor in the exact same way he lashed out at the guy who was successful in rescuing the children in the cave when Elon's idea was nonsense.

[–] Z4rK@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

That was much worse imho while this is just childish. Of course, having a social child as a ~~ CEO~~ CTO is concerning.

[–] ZERO16LIVES@vlemmy.net 4 points 1 year ago

Literally all social media allows people to connect, including shifty people, concerning...
