Paramount+ announced today that it has canceled Xbox’s Halo TV show after its second season. The team behind the show is reportedly looking to shop the sci-fi adaption around to other places in an effort to continue the series.

Its because they made their own story that shat on existing lore. Simple as, fallout meshed it in a tasteful way and thats why its good (plus fallout games were honestly easier to do this with).

Halo isn't that hard to have a story interwoven with the games'. The books and comics do that easily, so why can't a tv show?

Because they felt the need to have master chief at the center of the story, instead of choosing any one of the many other Spartans. As a huge halo fan (have read almost all of the books) i could have been ok with this "silver timeline" thing if they pointed to a single spot in the established lore and said, here's where it diverged.

But instead, they slapped Halo nouns onto a generic Syfy story.
