Funny you should mention that, one of the first things I noticed on Lemmy is the culture on emojis, people like them. I for one am totally onboard 😁

The emoji hating folks on reddit were a weird subculture. Acting like you're too mature for emojis is... Really immature imo

The reason for it is that emojis are very heavily used in conjunction with low quality content. That’s why the backlash was there. That and the people who litter their comments with dozens of them. Emojis are fine in moderation but Reddit just went 100% against
