GAZA/JERUSALEM, Oct 24 (Reuters) - More than 700 Palestinians were killed in overnight Israeli air strikes, Gaza's health ministry said on Tuesday, the highest 24-hour death toll since Israel began a bombing campaign to crush Hamas militants who stunned the country with a deadly Oct. 7 attack.

Israel said it had killed dozens of Hamas fighters in the overnight strikes on the besieged enclave but said its war to destroy the Islamist group would take time.

As aid agencies warned that a humanitarian catastrophe was unfolding in Gaza, French President Emmanuel Macron flew to Israel to offer it support.

i have no reason to believe otherwise

That "destroyed hospital with 700 dead babies" might have been a reason. Hamas pulled a number out of their hats immediately after it happened without even having time to count anything. Then the number got lower and lower. Now we have arrived at a burned parking lot with about 100 to 300 deaths. So we can easily half all numbers that Hamas puts out to get anywhere close to the truth.

Not sure which one is worst, you admit that you're downplaying the number of deaths, or the purpose of your comment is only about Hamas number, not the death Israel caused, whether it's half of Hamas number or not.

Yikes.

lol the guy who sees no reason to not believe overblown "death counts" by people who gouge other peoples eyes out for fun "yikes" at others. Get a grip on reality. These deaths are targeted at Hamas and them hiding behind civilians and children is what's causing the deaths.

now they're justifying civilian casualty. Double yikes
