So, in other words the FBI must have had tons of specific information that this insurrection was going to happen ... Yet we had very little law enforcement there or on standby.
This is the part of Jan 6 that has not received nearly enough attention. Either law enforcement was grossly incompetent, or they were deliberately held back to allow the insurrection to succeed. In other words: a coup.
I’m in another country, in another hemisphere and I knew to expect the insurrection. It was being talked about on social media days before.
The insurrectionists made and wore T-shirts to the event
My MAGA friend called me up two days after the election and said, totally unprompted, "By the way, if you think there's going to be a coup, there's not."
I thought to myself, my god, there's going to be a coup.
