Following this post yesterday, the errors encountered by other admins were sorted and we realized captchas were not enough of a reason to keep people from experince the best version of Lemmy.

We are now on v0.18 with registration applications turned on, this is a temporary requirement until captchas are added back. If you encounter any bugs with the new version please mention them in the comments.

(Clear your cache if the new version doesn't load for you, should work fine after that.)

Did you encounter any issues during the upgrade or did the docker compose handle everything smoothly?

Not OP but just upgraded on my own instance and one issue is that you have to give the lemmy_ui and pictrs containers access to the internet instead of just the local network by adding lemmyexternalproxy to the networks in docker-compose.yml. I did use the Lemmy-Easy-Deploy script made by /u/ubergeek77@lemmy.ubergeek77.chat but it should be the same when using ansible considering I adapted instructions for ansible from the Lemmy github issue tracker ๐Ÿ˜‚ . If you don't do that you can't access the page and just see server_error on a blank page but works in an external client like jerboa.
