Does anyone know of a FOSS audio loop station for android? I would like to record several audio tracks for the purposes of writing and practicing. Thanks

This was my first time working with assembly, but I quite like the result, although there probably are a few things that could be better. I'd love some feedback!

I made a simple timer app for Android, desktop, and browser. I think it's ready for most part, and I'm starting to look into publishing it.

I decided to start with Android / Play Store, which immediately gives me a roadblock. Google Play Console says:

• Have at least 20 testers opted-in to your closed test (1 tester currently opted-in)
• Run your closed test with at least 20 testers, for at least 14 days

I want to look into F-Droid and Flathub once I have this sorted out. But before that, any opinions on the app, or volunteers for testing, as I don't have 20 friends to ask?

2. You can create an optional username to connect without sharing your phone number
3. You can enable a new, optional privacy setting to require people to connect with you via username instead of phone number

A Signal username isn't the profile name that’s displayed in chats, and isn't visible to the people you chat with on Signal. A username is simply a way to initiate contact on Signal without having to share your phone number. (You still need a phone number to sign up for Signal.)

Create a username by going to your Settings > Profile. Your username must be unique, and can be changed at any time.

To connect with someone via username instead of phone number, type their exact, unique username.

We’re launching these updates to our beta users now, and will be turning them on for everyone running the latest version of the Signal app soon. Our goal is to listen to your feedback, make adjustments, and ensure phone number privacy on Signal is easy and useful for everyone.

MercuryAlloy automates the build process for the Mercury browser.

I really like the Mercury browser, but I worried about the browser getting out of date, since releases of the browser seem to be build and released manually. So I threw together a set of scripts and overrides that will allow the build process to run without user interaction and on a schedule. You can modify the subscripts to move your compiled executable anywhere you want (like a web server), as well as send a custom alert upon successful build (like sending the link out via email).

This is a more technical project, but it has been a fun learning experience.

This is the best and when i say the best i mean the best file manager you can have on android . Like it has everything a good file manager should have and is really stable . I don't think i have ever been more impressed by a piece of software or promoted it as much as i do this . All i am saying is it is the peak for android it has various compression/extract options built in can work with root , have a text editor . Etc. Etc . No file manager i have used ever has even came close .

I've been using manjaro for a couple of years and I really like it. especially the wide variety of packages available. Recently been using yay to find/install.

I prefer to run FLOSS packages when they are available. But I do not find a convenient way to preferentially seek these out. Even to know what licenses apply without individually researching each specific package.

It does not seem to be possible to search, filter or sort based on license in the web interface for packagegs or AUR. I do not find anything about it in man pacman(8) or man yay(8).

The only way I have found to find license info from the terminal is using expac. You can use %L to display the license. I guess you could combine this in a search to filter, similar to some of the examples listed on pacman/Tips and tricks - ArchWiki. But I haven't quite got it to work.

This seems like something other people would want but I don't find any available solution for it. Am I missing something? Or is it something with the arch-based distros?

The federation between mastodon and lemmy is strange. If a M account wants to follow a L community, they need to follow an automated M account which represents the L community. But if any M post mentions that L community, the post will get boosted by the community's M account, so everybody who follows will get a notification. And I'm not sure if this can be moderated from the L side, because it seems like it never goes through L. Such as - do you see this @opensource ? Does a L mod see this?
