Hello everyone! I want to ask some recommendation of open source alternative to IDM with these feature:

  • Automically capture link from browser (especially Firefox)
  • Compact layout like IDM, no excessive theme
  • Still maintained
  • No silly "freemium" like FileCentipede
  • Video download indicator on browser, I mainly download videos from YT, NicoNicoDouga, Bilibili, Facebook Videos, Instagram, etc. Similar to: Video download indicator on browser
  • Properly detect non Latin character file name

I already research some options, but I asking directly to community might surface interesting underrated programs.

Thank you!

Little different post than typical but I remember being really excited about their tractor and compressed earth block press a long time ago.

Is this just one of those "never build something you can buy" type efficiency things? I'd love to know if anyone has had any direct involvement or firsthand knowledge.

Hey guys, I am looking for a desktop app (Linux) that can translate text in images. I know I can do that with google or some other websites but I was wondering if you have an open source alternative.

As someone who listens to a lot of niche artists, I was upset, that not all albums were present in MusicBrainz. So I came up with a solution.

Meet Lidarr++Deemix!

https://github.com/ad-on-is/lidarr-deemix

This tool helps to enrich Lidarr, by providing a custom proxy, that hooks into the process without modifying Lidarr itself, and injects additional albums from deemix.

I've recently been given medication for a rash I've been experiencing. With this app I can nicely track when the rash starts, at what time I take my medication and how effective it is. Seems to be a single developer who created a solid app. Also available on Playstore.

I am looking for an alternative to Easy Effects for windows. It works really well on my Linux machine, but I want something for my work machine that runs windows.

Any suggestions? I don't need all the filters, but at least something to correct the awful bass

I made a mod launcher for classic Doom (specifically, GZDoom) because I wasn't a fan of what currently exists. CleanDoom focuses on simplicity and usability.

If anyone here is a Doom fan, give it a try and let me know what you think!

In economics class we have to present our business plans and mine is coding classes (probably a summer camp for kids) and I could talk about how the coding classes would encourage kids to not make non-libre software

Heliboard 1.2 has just released. This version fixes a bug with certain Android devices not providing haptic feedback or audio feedback.

Thanks devs!

Heliboard V1.2

[Edited] Ironically my keyboard auto corrected its own name to "helipad." Embarrassing šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«

I'd understand if they were a random user, but a mod should already have at least some understanding about a community's topic.

But worse to me are their comments in that post calling the people responding "childish trolls in this community". I do not think that this is appropriate for a moderator.

Lemmy did not warn that this was already posted days ago. Apologies. Here's another take https://pluralistic.net/2024/04/01/human-in-the-loop/#monkey-in-the-middle
