Original Title: a cool cache I found back in january. In an area full of micros, this was a lovely surprise. It was at the holiday house of a prolific hider in the area. This was also the first time I took my grandmother geocaching and she loved it.

So over the last few months I was paying attention to logs on some caches all of them were not premium so accessible by everyone who downloads the app.. I have seen quite a few very strange logs which included the N words and other racist words also a sentence like a left a used condom and it was a wonderful moment or I covered the logbook with my “milk”,

Also fake logs on challenges like fill in the D T matrix etc.. by individuals with like 1-9 finds.. Why don’t cache owners care about this logs ? If it would happen to my caches I would delete the log and maybe report it to the HQ…

Just like the name said - it's a king, and it's on a hill 😆

I guess I just want to vent.

Several years ago I set up a cache with one of the pelican boxes. There have been a few incidents where someone has stolen it or left it strewn in the parking lot. But this time someone put a dead fish in it. It was disgusting and not salvageable.

I purposely didn’t make it premium. And I don’t think making it premium would’ve prevented this.

For the most part people seem to really enjoy it and it has received 30 hearts. But this particular incident was so gratuitous.

I’ve temporarily disabled the cache and ordered a new container and some accessories. But this was a bit crushing. The holidays tend to be when it gets the most activity, and I don’t think I’ll have it set up in time for next week.

Congratulations, you've been promoted to the "Director of Fun Events and/or Souvenirs to Promote Geocaching"! Your first order of business is to create a new event and/or set of souvenirs to engage both the existing player base and attract new ones.

Remember we here at Fictional HQ love Project-GC but not all of those stats are official, but since we're fictional feel free to plagiarize! We also want to remind you that not every event or souvenir will be for everyone so don't let that discourage you!

I have had some interesting discussions with other geocachers about this, and it appears that even veteran geocachers have different opinions. I myself am not consistent and do different things depending on the details of the cache and my motivations at the time.

If you are with a group trying to get a difficult cache, such as high up a tree, do you log the cache if someone else climbs the tree and signs the log with your name? Does it change if they bring the cache down and you can sign it yourself?

I know these type of caches get a lot of dislike on here but I thought I would show them a little love. I don't get to go on caching adventures often so sometimes when I'm doing the weekly shopping or running errands I'll check the map for what's close by. These little stops help keep me engaged in caching and motivated to continue the hobby between the more interesting and difficult finds. So thank you to the urban micro owners.
